5/30/18: No Beer, But Various Updates and an Acknowledgment of the G.D.P.R.

6:27 PM

So, it's been a bit. Let's talk for a minute. If you're in Europe, you'll see a notice above. You'll also see that the beginning of the notice is cut off. My apologies. I'm sure I could reformat my blog to better display it, but since I have no time these days I thought it'd be best to just include the full notice here:

"This site uses cookies from Google to deliver its services, to analyse traffic and potentially to personalise ads. Your IP address and user agent are shared with Google along with performance and security metrics to ensure quality of service, generate usage statistics, detect and address abuse, and to improve Google products. Learn more about how Google uses and protects your data, and manage your Google settings . By using this site, you agree to its use of cookies and other data."

If you need more information, click "LEARN MORE." If you understand and comply, click "GOT IT." This is all because of the GDPR, the EU's new internet law. Essentially, I need you to know that I, personally, do not collect your data at all. The data on this website is collected by Google. If you need to know what it's used for, click that "LEARN MORE" up top. Really, the only data that matters to me, as a blogger, is my overall traffic--I just enjoy seeing how many hits each of my posts get. Have you ever commented? Probably not, but if you've thought about it, please know that that runs through Google as well.

Honestly, if you go to my CONTACT page you'll see my various social media accounts (all handled through their respective platforms) and a link to my email where you email me. I will never ask for your email or personal information on this website. That's just not me.

And that subscribe thing on the side? That some RSS magic that I don't fully comprehend. It's got nothing to do with the blog and everything to do with the platform that powers your RSS feed.

What it boils down to, my European friends, is that I need you to actively consent to view the blog by clicking "GOT IT" up top. Got it? Good.

Now, for everyone reading this, I'm very busy right now. Let me tell you what's up. Wedding. House. Work. You know the drill. In the face all of all of that, something had to give. It was either my sanity or regular posts around these parts. I haven't snapped yet and if you're reading this, you can probably tell what gave way.

But the blog's far from dead! I have a can of Lupu Luau in the fridge begging for review. I'm working on a cool cider-brewing post featuring some intense recipes (created by myself, no less!). And then there's the infinite number of beers in the world I have yet to try--you can expect me to talk about some of them here until internet goes away or I die, whichever comes first.

Until now, take solace in this, loyal readers. I get married at the end of next month. I'd like to get to that fridged Dogfish Head before then, but we'll see what happens. Regardless, you can expect much more frequent posting when I return from my honeymoon (I'll get back in the middle of July).

So, I guess, thanks for bearing with me. I'm still here. I'm still drinking beer. I'm still making beer and cider. I'm still going to cool beer events (like MadTree's Funk Day this passed Sunday). Be sure to hit me up with any questions and I promise I'll see you sooner rather than later.
