5/22/16: Uinta Brewing Company's Baba Black Lager

I'd seen this beer at my local Kroger for months and months and months. At $8.99 a sixer, it seemed to be calling out to me. I just never got around to taking the plunge and buying the beer. However, that changed recently. And, well, here we are.

Up for review today is Uinta's Baba Black Lager. This is my first black lager, so, going into the brew, I had no idea what I'd find. If you pull up a chair, open a up a beer, and give me some of your time, I'll tell you exactly what I've found.

5/15/16: Off Color Brewing's Scurry

I've been looking forward to this. Ever since my last, and first, experience with Off Color, I've seen a few more of their brews at my local beer store but haven't purchased any. However, last weekend Michelle and I decided to go to a liquor store and get spendy in celebration of my completion of the second semester of my grad program.

She bought wine. I bought two things: a bottle of cider and a four-pack of beer. I drank the cider that night, but I've been sitting on the beer. Until now. Here we are, a week later, and I'm about to break into Off Color's Scurry.

5/11/16 Leinenkugel's BeerGarten Tart

When I think of a biergarten, I think of outside drinking, like what you'd find at an Octoberfest. When I think of Octoberfest, I think of dreary, rainy days. Coincidentally, today is a rainy day. That means it has to be a perfect evening for me to enjoy Leinie's BeerGarten Tart.

Yes, I know that the "Tart" in the name of the beer leads itself to warmer weather than the Octoberfest experience I've just described. Fret not! It's pretty doggone humid in my apartment. Summer is just around the bend. It's a mixture of dreary rain and sticky humidity. As such, I'm willing to bet this Berliner Weisse-inspired brew'll be nice and refreshing.

5/1/16: New Glarus Brewing Company's Spotted Cow

It's (finally) May. I have one week left of classes before a month-long break and, man, am I looking forward that that break. I'm also all caught up on my coursework for the time being, which meant I was able to spend today not even thinking about school. I woke up, went for a run, had a beer, and went out on the town with Michelle.

It was a good day. And sunny. But now it's not. Right as I sat down to begin this post, a storm broke out. That means instead of writing this outside like I'd planned, I'm writing it on my futon. But that's okay. After my last New Glarus experience, I'm sure that, with the great day I had, Spotted Cow will be the perfect thing as I transition into the evening, indoors or out.
